1. The Englishunt Offer

What will I be teaching?
As an Englishunt instructor, you will be teaching English to students ranging from young learners to adult teachers. The curriculum will range from free-talking to test-prep instruction. Our curriculum is as varied as our student selection. For those of you selected (or if you elect) to teach in our phone English programs, you will mostly teach college-level adults or higher. Most of these classes are based around test-prep curriculum. A single class, lecture or lesson will range from 10 to 20 minutes.

Is teaching experience required?

Yes and no. If you are qualified and elect to teach our video English classes, many of them require a teaching certificate. Thus, experienced teachers are selected. For our phone English classes, no prior teaching experience is required. Also, most phone English classes do not require a teaching certificate. Nevertheless, all teachers will go through a live-training process. And, all programs will have assets available to them to refresh a given curriculum or Learning Management System (LMS).

What level of education do I need?
All video instructors must hold a four-year degree from an accredited institution and a teaching certificate to teach for the video programs. All  instructors for phone should have at least a two-year degree from an accredited institution.

Is it necessary to be able to speak my students' native language?
Not at all. All instruction and in-class communication will be done exclusively in English. Many of our video classes that have younger students will have a native teacher to aid, or team teach with you.

What will be discussed?

This will largely be defined by the curriculum; however, teachers have the flexibility to adjust lessons to their students needs. When you login to the appropriate LMS, the curriculum you teach will be posted. Thus, both student and teacher alike know what lesson to cover.

Why are these students studying English?

There are a range of reasons, but for most of our students English is necessary for advancement into a particular education institution, promotion at work and to pass English assessment tests to enter any given company.

What about student feedback?
All LMSs have a space for feedback for every lesson. As an Englishunt teacher, you will comment on a range of skills including grammar, pronunciation, speaking and listening. Students will have access to this feedback on a regular basis and will use the comments as an aide to improve their English ability.

What are the work hours?
This is largely defined by the teacher's availability. We usually seek instructors with at least a two-hour block of availability. However, we offer shifts up to six hours in duration. Given the time differences between our instructors in the United States and our students in Asia, most teaching hours take place early in the morning or in the late afternoon/evening/late night.

Is every instructor guaranteed the same working schedule?

As with any job, while we do our best to fill your availability, the amount of students you teach is merit based. These come from not only internal assessments of each teacher by Englishunt, but by our customers as well.

Are there peak times for teaching?
Typical peak times for the instructors are 4 am - 11 am EST and 4 pm - 8 pm EST as well as 11:00 pm to 4:00 am.

I'm interested, when can I start?
Upon completing our live training with our trainers, you will be assigned a student list. Usually  our instructors begin teaching upon completion of training and after technology related testing is verified.

Is this a telemarketing offer?
Absolutely not. Englishunt is an English educational publishing and service company specializing in supplying our customers with native speakers of English from the United States. Your students wish to improve their English language abilities. You will be instructing and aiding in that effort.

This is part of the interview process and an important part of your evaluation to be considered as an Englishunt  Instructor.
Quality assurance is done on a regular basis.  You will be evaluated on the content of your lessons, appearance and enthusiasm. You will receive comments about the technical quality of your lessons such as sound and appearance on camera.  Being in class on time and ending the lesson at the appropriate time is also considered. Evaluations are based on 100 points. You must receive 80% or better consistently.  If scores are lower than that more than three consecutive times, you will be asked to improve your performance or risk termination.

Does everyone make it through training successfully?
